Soon afterward Jesus began a tour of the nearby towns and villages, preaching and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom of God. He took his twelve disciples with him, along with some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases. Among them were Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons; Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s business manager; Susanna; and many others who were contributing from their own resources to support Jesus and his disciples. -Luke 8:1-3 NLT
These women, their names are forever written in the Bible recorded for all history. Remembered, not because of who they were married to and his high position. Not because of how much money they had or their status in life. They are forever remembered because the true impact of their lives came out when they followed Jesus. Jesus touched their lives and brought attention to their true worth. It was always there, but when they left all they knew to follow Him, that’s when their lives truly displayed their significance. He is the difference, He is the reason these women were set apart. Again, it wasn’t because of who they were married to. Not the job, title, or education that they had. Not their standing in the community or their social circle. Not even who their families were. The names of these women will forever be remembered because they followed Jesus. Their lives were forever changed the moment that they made the decision to be His followers.
Let’s become women who are remembered not by our looks, our status, our titles, or any personal achievement, let’s be remembered by the greatest choice we have made in our lives, to be followers of Jesus.
