Take a moment and close your eyes as you place your hand over your heart. Breathe in slowly. Inhale and exhale a few deep breaths. Slow your mind. Slow your heart. Rest. It’s just you and Jesus.

“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” -Psalm 46:10 NLT

Father God,

I am thankful for You and this time we have together. Slowing down and resting I can connect with You and distance myself from the outside world. You are always with me, never leaving my side and for this, I am grateful. Every moment of my life You have seen and while it may not have always been easy, I know You will work it all out for my good. When my breathing quickens and my heart rate rises, Lord I ask that You once again place Your hand on my heart and remind me to come to You in rest. Help me to honor Your name as I move about my day and help me to remember that You are God. You know all my tomorrows and You are in control. Help me to “be still, and know.” I can lay down my striving and stress. I can walk away from the worry and the fret because You are God. Father help me to rest in the confident steadiness of Your power. To you I release all of the hurry and rush, the burdens and the cares. With You, I rest. And through the name of Jesus I pray.
