Praise God…that He has given us this day to draw closer to Him.

“Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.” -James 4:8 NLT

  Every day we get another chance and another opportunity. We get to draw closer to Jesus more today than we were the day before, and to grow in our faith. Every day we open our eyes we get another day to love like Him, forgive like Him, trust in Him, and believe in Him. The fact that we get to praise and thank Him today is a gift He has given. In His Word we are told that when we draw near to Him, He will do the same. As we move closer, we can be assured that He is moving as well. So, if today brings endless to-dos, mounting responsibilities, or tiresome demands, try to pause and remember that in all this we also get to draw closer to Jesus. Today isn’t just about getting it all done, it’s about getting to know Him. And what better way to live close to God than to praise Him for who He is and what He does.

  God, today we praise You for this day and this opportunity to draw closer to You. We praise You for coming close to us. We praise You for every day past, present, and future that we get to lean in close to You. Through the holy name of Jesus, we praise You.
