Praise God…that He is a shield for us.

“God is my shield, saving those whose hearts are true and right.” -Psalms 7:10 NLT

  When the attacks of this world come, the Lord is our Shield. I wish I could say “if the attacks come” but the reality is that they will come for all of us. No one gets out of this life without having to endure some enemy arrows flying towards us. But we don’t have to stand out in the open letting them inflict pain upon pain, because we have God who is a Shield for us. He is bigger than the enemy, He is stronger than the arrows, and His shield is greater than any we could fashion on our own. Turning to Him doesn’t mean the arrows won’t ever hit, but when they do they don’t have to inflict as much damage as they were intended. So, how do we hold up our God given shield? Instead of sizing up the attack coming our way or the artillery heading right at us, we can lock eyes with the Lord and trust in Him. When we reflect and remember who we have on our side, everything pales in comparison. He shrinks everything this world has to throw at us because who He is is so much greater than what we will ever face. So, let’s allow Him be our Shield, let’s allow Him be our everything, and let’s praise His holy name.

  God, today we praise You for being our protective Shield. We praise You for standing in the gap between us and the enemy. We praise You that Your shield is bigger than anything that will ever come against us. Through the holy and protective name of Jesus, we praise You.
