Praise God…that He has given us His Word to read.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” -2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV

  Imagine the closest person in the world to you wrote a book. It could be a family member or friend, but they are the closest personal relationship that you have ever known. Imagine they were so proud of this book and wanted nothing more than for you to read it. They knew it was filled with treasure and it would even help you in your life by blessing and comforting you immensely. Wouldn’t you eagerly want to crack the cover and read the words your friend wrote? I sometimes think that’s how it is with us and the Bible. God has given us His Word to read so I can only imagine how He longs for us to read it and grow closer to Him. The Bible is His Word given as a gift to us, knowing how it will bless our lives, knowing that it would lead us into a life-changing relationship with Him. The Word is one of the surest ways to get to know our heavenly Father and hear His voice. We get to learn about Jesus from His own words given to us to dive into and study. He has given us everything we need to seek Him and this is definitely worthy of our praise.

  God, today we praise You for Your Word. We praise You for the opportunity to hear or read Your Holy Scriptures. We praise You for the opportunity to grow closer to You through reading the Bible. Through the perfect and holy name of Jesus, we praise You.
