Praise God…that Jesus paid our debt.

“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” -Romans 5:8 NLT

  We have all sinned and made mistakes. We have all fallen short and made a mess of things. We have all followed the wrong path or made the wrong choice. And we didn’t do anything to deserve God’s love or His sacrifice, but both were freely given. Jesus stepped down from Heaven, a paradise we could never accurately imagine, in order to take on the burden of debts we owed and died for us to be forgiven. Without Him we would be eternally separated, we would be lost without a Guide, and we would have no future hope. We were never going to be able to pay the sin debts that we had gotten ourselves into. We couldn’t do it, so Jesus did. A love that big causes my words to fail and I am left simply in awe of Him. There is nothing He owes us, and yet there is nothing He hasn’t given us. With nothing to offer in return for such a love, all we can do is praise.

  God, today we praise You Jesus for making the ultimate sacrifice and dying for us all. We praise You for Your great love that did everything there was to do in order to pay the debt that we owed. We praise You that even when we were far from You, You did it anyway. We thank you that Christ died for us all to make us right with God, and through His name we praise You.
