Praise God…that He is our light.

“For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.” -2 Corinthians 4:6 NLT

  There is a reason that being scared of the dark is so common. In the darkness we experience an unease of what is hiding that can’t be seen. The possible danger that could be right in front of us but we just can’t discern because our eyes couldn’t focus enough in the dark. But the minute the light is flipped on, we can experience an instant moment of relief. Our eyes can once again see clearly, we can walk around without worry of what might be hiding, and we can easily find our way again. This is what Jesus does for us in so many ways. He lights our darkness, He helps us see clearly, He illuminates our way. He is the Giver of light. When it feels like we are surrounded in darkness, and just can’t find our way out, we can look to Him because His light will always shine for us to find. Which is so worthy of our praise.

  God, today we praise You that You are the Light. We praise You that You give light to the world. We praise You that Your light shines in the darkness and will never be extinguished. Through the light of Jesus’s name, we praise You.
